Master Exercises with Michael John Angel

by Matthew Innis |

Occasionally, Maestro Michael John Angel of the Angel Academy of Art in Florence sends his students brief exercises via email.  These are simple assignments meant to address some technical aspect he wishes his students to practice, and they are not intended to take very long to complete. In this post, readers have an opportunity to print out the source material (a detail from a portrait done by one of Bouguereau’s students – Jules Cavé), and follow along with the Maestro as he takes you through the exercise in just a handful of steps.
