Painting the Landscape: A Classic Tradition

The ‘Artist Conversation’ at 2pm on Sunday, November 6th will introduce the six artists: Tim Bell, Hiu Lai Chong, Leo Goode, Ed Hatch, Gerald Hennesy and Lisa Mitchell.

Artists through the centuries have painted their ‘surroundings’, the landscapes they know and live within. While landscape is the broadest of genres, from city-scapes, pastorals and marine scenes, it demands technical ability and innovation to showcase the beauty in a fresh creative composition. Artists are inspired by the beauty and the challenge set by old ‘master’ artists over previous centuries to now paint their version of the ‘classic landscape.’
