Participants establish the importance of prioritizing the use of structure and anatomy to accurately build a solid foundation and successfully orchestrate form and color relationships. These principles are analyzed through a series of exorcises beginning with gesture and block-ins continuing through to a long pose with the opportunity to apply the principles practiced. Utilizing short poses, working alla prima offers the opportunity to rapidly prioritize the information necessary for each stage. Moving through to a longer pose provides the opportunity to methodically develop accurate proportion, structure, value range and form. The workshop is highlighted with demonstrations of these methods and concepts accompanied by question and answer sessions. The workshop format accommodates students of all levels who enjoy working from life.
