In this class we will talk about the creation of a work of art and how to develop a picture from an initial idea to a mature concept.  We will discuss elements of aesthetics, composition, lighting, staging, costume, mood and color harmony.  We will look at master paintings for inspiration.  We will discuss how to best use thumbnail sketches in the developmental process, as well as the use of the color study.  We will use a model in an environment to work out a concept as a group.  Students will gain insights and tools that will help them develop their own concepts following the workshop.
