Inga Poslitur: Plein Air Workshop

by admin |

Join me for five days of intensive hands-on learning, instruction, and demonstrations in the stunning surroundings of the Gold Lakes Basin. Mother Nature provides us endless variety of shapes, patterns of light and shadows, and colors to enchant us. We will explore its treasures step by step with design studies, values observations, and color relationships, as well as methods and techniques for outdoor painting. This workshop will be equally valuable if you are a seasoned painter or a beginner who wishes to increase their skills and knowledge regarding painting in traditional media. The tools you will learn you can take back to your home studio where you can continue using what you have learned. I will be highlighting the importance of the design in composition and how to simplify landscape complexity.

Participants are welcome to use opaque medium of their choice such as traditional oils, acrylics, gouache, water-based oils or even pastels. I will be painting with oils, occasionally combined with acrylics. Please keep in mind that some of our locations will involve moderate uphill or downhill hiking. Pack your art gear accordingly and plan to be prepared to work in a wide range of temperatures.
