The 22nd Annual International Portrait Competition Finalists

by Matthew Innis |

The 2020 Art of the Portrait Conference will soon be here, and by its conclusion, we will know who has taken home top honors in the 22nd Annual International Portrait Competition.  This year, 2,660 digital entries were received from artists around the world, and the judges had a difficult time winnowing that initial group down to 100 potential award-winners.  After eight additional rounds of judging, 50 of those 100 artists were given awards of distinction, 27 were given certificates of excellence, and 23 were selected to compete as finalists for the highest awards.  These last 23 works will be on display at the Art of the Portrait Conference in April, where the judges and attendees will cast their votes onsite.  For more information on the conference – on how you can attend for a day or for the full event, or how you can submit your own work for next year’s competition – please visit www.PortraitSociety.org.

The finalists are featured below.  Best of luck to all of the artists!
